As Interim Regional Vice-President, U.S. Refining, Claudio oversees the operations of
Cenovus’s wholly owned and operated U.S. refineries in Lima, Superior and Toledo.
Claudio is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the refineries, and leads
optimization opportunities at the assets. He is also leading the integration work
related to Cenovus’s acquisition of the 50% interest to become the 100% owner and
operator of the Toledo Refinery as Vice-President, Operations Integration.
Claudio has been involved in the oil and gas industry for more than 30 years and has
extensive experience in operations management, refining and corporate planning.
Prior to joining Cenovus in 2021, Claudio spent eight years at Husky Energy and held
increasingly senior roles at the Lima Refinery including General Manager, Technical
& Planning Director, and Coordination & Economics Manager. Before Husky, Claudio
worked at AXION Energy in Argentina for two years as Executive Project Manager.
He started his career at ExxonMobil and worked in various operations and planning
& economics roles across the United States and Argentina for 20 years, including at
the Beaumont Texas Refinery and Campana, Argentina.
Claudio holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the National
University of Littoral in Argentina and an MBA from the Pontifical Catholic University
of Argentina.
A native of Argentina, Claudio is a naturalized U.S. citizen.
