Erin Hoeflinger was named President for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio in 2008. A native Ohioan, Ms. Hoeflinger is responsible for the strategic leadership of the largest health benefits company in the state. Her responsibilities include the development of innovative programs and services to improve the health care experience for more than 3 million members, leading efforts to improve access to health care in the state and serving as a leader in the transformation of health care.
Ms. Hoeflinger is responsible for corporate strategy, planning and execution, and serves as the primary contact for state regulators. She also plays a leadership role in maintaining the company’s commitment to the communities we serve across the state.
Ms. Hoeflinger’s career spans more than 20 years. Prior to becoming President in Ohio, Ms. Hoeflinger served as President of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine following progressive leadership positions in sales, operations and health care management. As Vice President of Health Care Management, Ms. Hoeflinger helped Anthem achieve NCQA “excellent” accreditation – the standard of excellence for health plans. She has been a tireless advocate for improving service to members and fulfilling Anthem’s commitment to improving the health of each and every person in the communities we serve.
Ms. Hoeflinger combines her commitment to improving the health of Ohio residents with leadership in civic and business affairs. She is currently a member of the Ohio Business Roundtable, the Governor’s Health Care Coverage and Quality Council, the Cincinnati Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Health Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati and the Dayton Development Coalition. She is also a board member of Midmark, a global organization providing products and services for healthcare providers, and Amedisys, Inc., a leading health care company focused on personalized home health care services.

Ms. Hoeflinger holds an MBA from Xavier University and an undergraduate degree in communications from Wright State University.
She and her husband Deron reside in Springboro, Ohio, with their two daughters, Lindsay
