Michael Fisher became president and CEO of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in January 2010, after serving five years on the board of trustees.
Under Fisher’s leadership, the medical center is implementing a dynamic strategic plan and strengthening critical infrastructure to accelerate Cincinnati Children’s progress toward being the leader in improving child health. Cincinnati Children’s today is widely recognized as one of the nation’s premier pediatric hospitals and research centers, ranking in the top three in the 2012 U.S. News & World Report survey of best children’s hospitals.
A lifelong Cincinnati resident, Fisher is deeply committed to addressing health issues of importance to the Greater Cincinnati community, including the high rate of obesity and infant mortality. At the same time, he and his team are working to expand the national and international impact of Cincinnati Children’s patient care, education, and research activities.
Fisher has intensified Cincinnati Children’s focus on delivering value to all stakeholders. He is forging innovative and strategic partnerships while strengthening the organization’s commitment to its vision, mission and values. He also is championing robust programs in leadership development and employee health and wellness.
Prior to his appointment at Cincinnati Children’s, Fisher was a principal in his family’s business, Fisher Investment Group, president and CEO of Premier Manufacturing Support Services, and president of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
